The School of Finance Successfully Hosted the 'United Hearts, Shared Vision: Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Special Lawn Music Festival'
On the evening of October 25, 2024, the 'United Hearts, Shared Vision: Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Special Lawn Music Festival' was held grandly on the Nanhu Greenway, organized by the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Education Center and the School of Finance, and hosted by the Graduate Student Association of the School of Finance. Attendees included Wang Ping, member of the Party Committee of the University and Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Finance, Yang Miao, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Education Center, Hu Hongbing, Vice Dean of the School of Finance, Xiang Min, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Administrative Vice Dean of the School of Finance, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee, teachers from the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Education Center and the Graduate Office of the School of Finance, and hundreds of students.
The music festival kicked off with a performance by the Guesser Band, with the song "Flowers" allowing the audience to feel the power and inheritance of music in the melody. Vice Dean Hu Hongbing of the School of Finance expressed that the festival served as a platform for communication between Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan students and mainland students, fostering friendships through music and working together with Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan students towards a shared future.
With stars shining brightly and melodies echoing softly, the first half of the festival featured Zhang He and Zeng Xizhi's passionate opening with 'All for Love', conveying the power of unity and mutual support. Chen Ximin's 'Next Stop, Queen T' sang the hearts of dream chasers, Zhang He's 'Across the Ocean to See You' spoke of deep feelings that transcend distance, and Qiu Zijuan's 'So Many People in This World' expressed cherishing every encounter and exchange. Si Chenxi's dance 'Ode to Spring' brought a visual delight to the festival, showcasing the vitality of life and the charm of culture.
By the lakeside of Xiaonan Lake, each song was enchanting. In the second half, the Wen Miaoge Rap Club's 'CHANGE' and 'Don't Worry About Me' brought a surge of passion to the festival, demonstrating the vitality and freedom of youth. Zeng Xizhi's 'Need You Every Minute' sang of dependence and longing for a loved one, Ling Zihao's 'Yield' conveyed the power of tolerance and understanding. Hou Guanjun performed the classic Cantonese song 'Tuberose,' like the fragrance of flowers at night, making people mesmerized. Chen Yiying sang the classic Minnan song 'Dark Sky,' evoking nostalgia for childhood among the audience, while Li Lihe's 'Tourbillon' and 'Overblown' demonstrated deep reflections on life and adherence to oneself.
On stage, a variety of programs took the stage in sequence, from band performances to rap, from solos to group dances, with lively notes and moving songs showcasing the youthfulness of students at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and the unique charm of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan culture. Off stage, students waved their glow sticks following the melody, hummed along with the beat of the music, or cheered and applauded for the exciting performances, immersing themselves in this musical feast together. Interactive segments such as 'Lucky Draw" and "Prize Quizzes' were interspersed throughout the program, integrating Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan culture into the theme of the music festival, making it engaging and full of fun. By participating in song identification and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan knowledge quizzes, the audience was deeply involved, pushing the atmosphere of the music festival to a climax.
At the end of the event, Yuan Wenxi and Zhang Jinkai led all staff and performers in singing 'I Love You, China,' with their voices echoing through the sky and reverberating in the night sky, and the twinkling stars representing love and blessings for the motherland. At this moment, everyone's hearts were closely connected, and each student's heart was filled with a noble love for the motherland.
This music festival integrated 'cultural education' into music and planted the 'red seed' in hearts, pursuing national memory and understanding of patriotism through Chinese music culture. It guided Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan youth students to feel the passion and vitality of the new era and new journey of New China in this immersive 'aesthetic education and ideological and political education scenario,' enhancing the cultural, national, and national identity of the new generation in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
